COVID-19 Business continuity plan update

June 8, 2020

COVID -19 Business Plan

Asphalt Burner Services Ltd has adopted the following 4 step plan:

1. Protecting our staff

2. Ensuring continuity for our clients

3. Our business is prepared

4. Ensuring our supply chain is effective

1. Protecting our staff

All of our staff are following the government's advice to work from home where possible and we are encouraging our field engineers to work with restricted limits of travel requirements and new procedures to follow to ensure they are protecting themselves as much as possible.

All of our offices are now restricted to a limited number of staff to ensure that goods are received, orders are still being fulfilled and items can be dispatched.

We've suspended all non-critical international business travel and travel between our UK offices.

We are updating our staff on a regular basis on the current pandemic crisis and what our companies position is whilst trading.

We are ready to follow any further guidance from Public Health Agency in NI and Public Health England to protect the health and safety of our staff members.

2. Ensuring continuity for our clients

With the nature of our work, flexibility is part of the way we work at ABS which means working remotely (including from home) is a familiar practice for our teams. We are confident our people are prepared.

All of our people are equipped with laptops, chargers, headsets, mobile phones and access to the 4G network to ensure they can continue to work effectively wherever they are.

Our IT systems are designed to suit a remote workforce. We use a secure cloud based bespoke built CRM system for all data processing that can be accessed remotely from anywhere. We can use the cloud system to share documents with each other and our clients and suppliers.

Our ethos is one of digital collaboration and our people regularly use video conferencing and instant messaging technology to work effectively together across multiple locations.

We have policies in place which cover the appropriate way to work securely when out of the office to ensure confidentiality and the protection of data.

As close contact face to face meetings are no longer advisable, we’d encourage a conversation with your ABS engineer or ABS sales contact to discuss and agree suitable alternative ways of working, for example distanced or online site inductions etc.

3. Our Business is prepared

Our managers have undertook Covid-19 awareness training and we contract excellent Health and Safety advisors to ensure that we carry out all of our work practises to the best of our ability in light of Covid-19.

We’re monitoring and acting on the advice of Governments in all regions in which we operate in, the World Health Organisation and our own Health and Safety advisors.

We are undertaking full business impact assessments across our business to identify potential risks and prepare for the continuation of services under a worse case scenario.

4. Ensuring our supply chain is effective

We’re in touch with our suppliers and customers who have contractual obligations to have appropriate plans and arrangements in place to ensure the continuity of the supply of goods and services provided.

Appropriate inventory is maintained of technology and spare parts and other products essential to running our operations.
