    Mechanical Engineer

    Richard carried out his apprenticeship in mechanical engineering at Parker Plant specialising in the production of Parker burners for their asphalt plants. His experience encompassed building the burners through to testing and commissioning. He then went on to work for Benninghoven for a further 6 years as a burner engineer carrying out burner services, installations, and repairs and monitoring. Since his employment with ABS, Richard has successfully qualified as a Gas Safe Engineer and is the point of call as engineer Team Leader.

  • Martin Gandy

    Electrical Engineer

    Martin carried out his apprenticeship in electrical engineering at Croft Quarry Aggregate Industries.He then began working for Parker Plant in commissioning burners throughout the world for 10 years. He went on to work for Benninghoven for a further 5 years as a burner engineer carrying out burner services, installations, and repairs and monitoring. Since working for Asphalt Burner Services since 2007, Martin is your point of call for any electrical issue or advice.

  • Leon Fletcher

    Mechanical Engineer

    Leon is the latest engineer to join the team, he has now been with ABS for over 4 year. Leon has a wealth of experience and is a great team player during installations. Having experience with working for Benninghoven for the previous 6 years before servicing burners, he is a familiar face throughout the UK industry. Leon has undergone full training and he is now a fully qualified Gas Safe engineer and with his mechanical skills has offered a lot of knowledgeable input to the R&D of up and coming products. Leon’s attention to detail is seen in his thorough reporting & he has also had a great deal of input in the new reporting system, making sure that the reporting software can input as much technical data as possible from the engineers perspective, ensuring that the correct data is collated when on site.

  • Andrew Hesmondhalgh

    Mechanical Engineer

    Andrew has over 45 years’ experience in the Asphalt Industry starting with plant manufacturers Parker Plant & Benninghoven, holding management roles with installations of asphalt plants throughout the world. He then joined Asphalt Burner Services in 2006 and provides unrivalled knowledge for installation & project works.

  • Jonathan Gregory

    Design & Mechanical Engineer

    Jonny graduated University of Ulster, Jordonstown with a Bsc Honours Mechanical Engineering Degree, his own enthusiasm for motor bikes & anything with an engine made him the ideal candidate for our graduate program. Jonny not only works on the installations & servicing of burners but he also makes a huge contribution to the design of the burners. Jonny has also just recently qualified as a Gas Safe engineer adding to his list of credentials.

  • Neil McAllister

    Apprentice Program

    Vulcan Asphalt Group feel very strongly that it is important to continue an apprentice scheme to help fill the gap of experienced technical engineers in this industry. Neil joined the Vulcan Asphalt Group in 2014 working towards his Electrical qualifications, Neil also holds Level 3 mechanical qualifications from his previous studies. Neil is currently involved in the assembly & installations of the Vulcan burners in the UK under supervision. At the end of Autumn 2016, Neil qualified in both Mechanical & Electrical elements of his trade and will progress further on a continual training program gaining valuable experience within the Industry.
